Emergency and Trauma Care

When something goes wrong, it can be hard to know what type of care you actually need.  Sometime calling 911 is the answer. But in some cases, an emergency room visit is not necessary at all, and problems can be treated with first aid or a visit to your primary care provider or an urgent care clinic. The information below is a guide to help you determine whether an emergency visit may be necessary.

For symptoms of heart attack or stroke / brain attack noted below, always call 911. If you are in doubt of what level of medical care you need, go to the emergency room or call Riverside Nurse at 757-595-6363 for help in assessing the need for medical treatment.
